Battlefield

As I walk the pitch at field 5 I can't shake the ghosts of a little U12 team as they battled to a championship in 2008. I can see Marisa Reid scoring (twice!), the crowed erupting in cheer. The tense feeling when FC was attacking late in game, the elation and celebration that followed the final whistle. The smiles and the tears as Sodium was crowned champion.

Saturday we will relive the moment. Sodium again will take the field to battle for the championship. This will be their last game as a U14G squad. Where has the time gone?

Remember how it felt lady warriors and put everything you have into capturing that feeling again. You have what it takes; talent, determination, commitment, heart and a deep love of the game.
But most importantly, you have each other. Your team. The bonds you have created this season will last a lifetime. Have fun Saturday, play hard and whatever the result, hold your heads high. You will always be champions to your loyal followers.
