With a hat trick from Willy the lady warriors show they are a force to be reckoned with in Region IV!!!!!!

A 3-1 victory over Spokane boosted Sodium to the top of the charts this morning and US Club Regional Championship.

You started off with a bang and never looked back this weekend. 12-1, 3-1, 3-0 to get to the play-offs. Then a spectacular 2-1, double OT victory over one of Spokane's finest, River City G95 Black, the #2 team out of Washington. And now the fun begins.

At 8am tomorrow you take the pitch against a team who has had a similar run. Undefeated and has yet to give up a goal, G95 U16 Navy out of Spokane, WA.

It's going to be a battle, you can bet on that. After todays match you can bet the Spokane team will come out and play physical and try to knock you off your game. Play your game Sodium. Stay composed and control the game. Trust your teammates and be confident they have your back. Put aside all differences and come together as a team.

Sodium advances finals!!!

In an outstanding display of championship caliber play Sodium came from a 1-0 deficit to beat River City 2-1 in double overtime!

Man I love this team!

1 minute into second half Easton, on a fake corner kick, drops the ball to Laura who crosses a perfect pass for a Dani header goal to equal the match at 1 each!!

vs EMFC Magic

Sodium out of the gate hot as they take a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes. Goals contributed by Elie and Dani.

Sodium finished strong with a goal off a deflection for Willie to make the final 3-0 and send Sodium to the Semi Finals against River City G95 Black @ 4pm today. Stay tuned!

Back from hiatus with updates...

Many apologies to the fans/parents/coaches and followers of the blog. I had to take a several week ‘vacation’ due to family and work issues but I’m back and will try to get back into the groove of posting on a regular basis.

Good Lord, where to start.

United College Showcase; I believe the final was Sodium wins the Championship because Ireland couldn't field a team? Someone correct me here if I’m wrong.

The team then paired with Gold/Ireland/Neon players to sweep 4 games in a tournament in Vancouver.

The following weekend saw the team split to play with Gold & Ireland in the United Cup and 3 player’s headed to Boise with Neon for the Far West Regionals.

Neon advanced to the Quarter’s but just couldn’t get past ID’s Super Nova team. Thanks to the girls who got some quality playing time and contributed greatly. Not to mention made some new friends.

The team is really starting to gel together. Confidence is building. By the time players all return from ’95 & ’96 ODP Regional camps the team should be firing on all cylinders for Surf Cup. Great job ladies!

United College Showcase recap

The first 2 days have been not only beautiful but produced some great soccer action for the lady warriors.

The first match pitted Sodium against the always solid Ireland squad. Midway through the second half Irelands talented Jill Farley drew first with a strike to make it 1-0. Moments later Sodium answered the challenge with Dani finding the net to even the match for the duration.

Day was a rematch of the 2011 State Championship finals with Sodium rivals OSSA 95 Blue. As with any match between these two powerhouses play was fast, physical and controlled. Both Bella (OSSA) and Luty made some spectacular saves to keep the match locked at 0-0 at the break. Sodium came energized and found the net on a beautiful textbook cross from Emmy down the right side to a crashing McKayla for the header putting Sodium up 1-0. Later in the second OSSA Answered with score of their own taking advantage of a defensive mis-que. Never give OSSA an inch or they will make you pay. Towards the end of regulation Sodium was applying more pressure as Willy singlehandedly took the feed into the box where she made met with solid defensive pressure. Willy went down but alertly popped up and ripped the ball past the far post for what would prove to be the game winner! A very exciting match!

I will post the showcase after the afternoon matches today.
