OK, here's the skinny; with the loss today (1-0) to Tophat (GA) Sodium still remains #1 in A bracket with 16 points (Yeah!!) and Tophat secures #2 in A bracket with 14 points.
Eastside FC (WA) is playing OSSA right now. Eastside has 16 points, OSSA has 8.
If OSSA wins, they are #1 in B bracket. If Eastside wins they are #1.
If OSSA loses* then TORO SC (NE) is #2 based on a head-to-head victory over OSSA earlier today.
*I didn't realize points were given for goals scored even in a losing effort.
Tomorrow's Schedule
11:00am Sodium (OR) vs OSSA Blue (OR)
11:00am Eastside FC (WA) vs Tophat (GA)
3:45pm Championship Match
(I will update this info after OSSA/Eastside match is completed)
From the sidelines
The long delay didn't do the squad any favors. Tomorrows 11am match time is right in Sodium's wheelhouse and should be a classic showdown.
Now, I don't want anyone to think I am not rooting for an Oregon team, but really, did we come all this way to play another Oregon team? Strictly speaking from a numbers standpoint, Sodium matches up better against TORO than OSSA. Either way, they will battle to the end.
Super Update
In a gallant effort OR Rush 95 put together some outstanding play but unfortunately will not be advancing. Best of luck to the girls in HS and we look forward to possibly meeting next season.
Never Back Down.
Never Give Up.
Never Lose Faith.
From our office desks, behind the wheel, in the kitchen or wherever we may be, the Sodium faithful will be screaming; GO SODIUM!!

From the sidelines
Bracket A I see Tophat from GA as a tough match up. I am basing this solely on their National ranking. As so far as the rest of the field, we have seen FCX before. August 9, 2009 in Virginia Beach, VA at US Club Nationals. You can read the results by clicking here.
San Diego's rankings don't do them justice but if Sodium plays their game, it shouldn't be an issue.
Bracket B is a different story. National rankings aside they are stacked with #1 ranked teams in their perspective states. We've seen Eastside FC and lost 2-1 our last meeting. (When Luty got taken out by the flying tent). And remember how dirty the last team we played from MN was? And I have no clue about Toro so I'll have to watch this bracket closely.
I want to leave you faithful readers with an entry from the 2009 Oswego Nike Cup where Sodium was playing ESUFC Arsenal. Sodium had 11 players left, the heat was sweltering and...well, you can click here and find out the rest.
Glued to my smartphone waiting for updates I'll be screaming; GO SODIUM!!

World Cup USA Incredible Finish
In what can only be described as a miracle comeback, USA beat Brazil to advance to semi finals against France.
Battling Brazil AND the ref's the US Woman, down a player, mounted one of the greatest comebacks ever.
They never gave up. They never backed down. They never lost faith. Today they made me even prouder to be an American.
